Amma Cacao is Sacred Cacao from Mother India, born out of love and devotion.
About "Amma Cacao"
We are what we eat.
We crafted all of our recipes for ourselves and for our families and friends, and now we are happy to share it with you too.
Food is the medicine for our body, mind, and spirit.
We are all connected, and we can change the world through everyday acts of love and care. Instead of fighting shadows, we share the light from our hearts, nourishing and cultivating what is important.
This is our way.
We brought together traditions and wisdom of the Mayan tribes, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, modern Biohacking into one - Amma Cacao.
Our Story
Amma Cacao was born in India in the summer of 2023. We had been searching tirelessly for high-quality cacao for our sacred ceremonies during tribal gatherings every Full Moon and New Moon. The process was frustrating, as nothing met our needs for Ceremonial Grade Cacao.
After trying countless samples from different producers in India, we realized that IF WE COULD NOT FIND WHAT WE NEEDED, WE HAD TO CREATE IT OURSELVES!
This was the beginning.
Our Name
Suddenly, some names came to us:
- Mother Nature in American tribes Pachamama,
- Gaia - in Greek mythology, known as the mother goddess, personification of the Earth,
- Ix Cacao (Mother Goddess of Cacao of ancient Mayans),
- Buddist Green Tara, and
- Amma means Mother, Mama, in the languages of South India, where cacao is grown.
The name “Amma Cacao” felt so right, as if she had been waiting for us to call Her Name and help Her come into this world.
AMMA CACAO - Premium Sacred Cacao from Mother India.
Does this story sounds a bit mystical?
Maybe, but that’s how it all started - with love and devotion.
Around the World
One year later, we were sending our Ceremonial Cacao and Functional Cacao Bars all around the World.
Without a website and with just a few followers on our Instagram page @ammacacao, the message about the quality of Amma Cacao spread quickly by word of mouth.
We worked hard every day to improve our quality, share holistic cacao formulas, and send parcels within India, to Europe, the US, New Zealand, and many other countries.
Our Background
We are Anna and Raj - the founders and caretakers of Amma Cacao's development and growth.
Anna's background
“I wanted to bring spirit into matter.”
Anna has been teaching Tai Chi and Qigong for more than 20 years, organising transformational retreats and teacher-training programs, and leading sacred ceremonies with Master plants, including Cacao Ceremonies at tribal gatherings.
Originally from Russia, Anna was a very weak and sick child who almost died from asthma at the age of three. A miracle happened when her parents turned to holistic methods. Since then, she has been on a journey of self-healing through natural remedies, collecting medicinal herbs and mushrooms with her mother, and practising various breath and body techniques. By age 13, she was a healthy teenager.
Anna dreamed of becoming a superbeing and searched intensely for answers in books, with her Chinese Master, her Guru in India, her Brazilian Master, and in the lands of Mayan tribes in Mexico and Guatemala. She lived in several eco-communities, including the Tribal Village and Fungi Academy.
Cacao, Theobroma Cacao (Food of the Gods), found Anna in Mexico and then in Guatemala in 2012, along with other traditional Master Plants for sacred shamanic ceremonies. Over 10 years, she learned, witnessed, and practised Mayan ways of working with cacao, the Mayan Calendar, and "new age" practices like permaculture, biohacking, and quantum uplifting commonly used in the expat community. She lived at Lake Atitlán for many years, the birthplace and renaissance centre of the Global Cacao Culture. There, she made her first bean-to-bar cacao using ancient technology, all by hand.
She visited various cacao farmes, learned about cacao production, the challenges and secrets of ceremonial grade cacao, and the alchemy of chocolate making with European chocolatiers. She also made her first mushroom-cacao during the pandemic.
However, she never thought she would have her own cacao company until...
In 2023, Anna returned to India and continued her work with sacred gatherings and cacao ceremonies. This is when the need for high-quality cacao became strong.
And this is when Anna met Raj...
Raj's background
Raj Yadav’s journey is a remarkable blend of discipline, spiritual exploration, and transformative discovery.
Born and raised in the UK, Raj began his career in the business world, where he honed skills in strategy, leadership, and resilience. While his professional path was defined by business, he also nurtured a passion for Muay Thai and boxing, dedicating over 20 years to mastering these combat sports. His rigorous training not only developed his physical strength but also deepened his mental resilience.
Driven by a quest for deeper meaning and spiritual growth, Raj traveled to India. His transformative journey brought him to Goa, where his path intersected with Anna’s. Raj became Anna’s student in Qigong, a practice that harmonized with his physical training and spiritual pursuits. Their shared commitment to holistic well-being soon forged a strong friendship.
It was through this friendship that Anna introduced Raj to cacao - a discovery that profoundly impacted his journey. Anna, with her deep understanding of cacao’s healing and spiritual benefits, shared this ancient wisdom with Raj. The introduction to cacao complemented his spiritual practices and offered new avenues for emotional and personal healing.
Inspired by the transformative effects of cacao, Raj saw an opportunity to integrate this newfound passion into his life’s work. Together with Anna, he co-founded AmmaCacao, a brand dedicated to sourcing and sharing high-quality cacao. For Raj, Amma Cacao represents more than a business venture - it embodies the intersection of his diverse experiences and his commitment to wellness.
Through AmmaCacao, Raj continues to explore and share the benefits of cacao, reflecting his journey from the discipline of combat sports to the spiritual and emotional enrichment found in cacao. His story is a testament to how unexpected connections and new discoveries can lead to profoundly meaningful and transformative paths.
